Team League

The competition involves thirty-two member clubs. Each season, clubs are divided into four Sections (A,B,C & D) with the eight teams in each section playing each other home and away. Each match comprises four fourballs, the scoring being two points for a win and one for a half.

The regular season therefore comprises fourteen matches per team after which the top two teams in each section proceed to quarter-final and semi-final play-offs at neutral venues. The winning teams from the semi-finals then meet at a further neutral venue with Finals Day also including the final of the individual matchplay competition.  |

The format of the sections for the following season is then decided as follows:-

     The top two teams in each section become the new Section A

     Teams placed third and fourth become the new Section B  

     Teams placed fifth and sixth become the new Section C

     Teams placed seventh and eighth become the new Section D   

   

Matches are generally played each Friday from early April until early August with tee times organised by the host club.
