Message from our President
Lawrence Batley would be very proud to see our Web-Site in operation and to see how the Seniors Golf League has developed. We should all remember the basic concepts that he set up.
They were:-
1. That golfers of retirement age should be able to play golf at different courses at very little cost.
2. That they should play in a league to keep their competitiveness.
If he could see the growth in numbers both of clubs and players, he would see yet another one of his successful ideas come to fruition.
As I play in the league and meet the players and members at different courses I see senior players enjoying both the company and the game. Those first principles of a scone and a cup of tea may have changed to a bacon butty but the companionship and laughter are still there.
The addition of our web-site, I hope, will enhance our communication system and bring us into the computer world.
